HERE Passport

HERE Passport was a membership app for nightlife. Members paid for a digital pass that got them faster entry at partner venues, and the venues shared in the revenue.

The idea underneath it

The bigger idea was about reputation. Trust decides who gets opportunities, who gets access and who gets believed, but nobody has built a way to carry it from one place to another. You can prove you're creditworthy in seconds. You can't prove you're trustworthy. For people who grew up without money or connections, that trust is often the only ladder they have.

I wanted to test a system that verifies social capital. Nightlife is where it's most concentrated, because people vouch for each other at the door all night, so I started there.

What the research said

We ran 312 interviews and more than 4,000 surveys. The clearest thing people told us was that they wanted to go places with their friends. Getting in faster mattered less than getting in together, so we rebuilt the roadmap around going out as a group.

What I did

I co-founded it and led product. I worked on how the pass worked for members and for venues, and on how people were verified.

I left in 2025, and I don't work on it now.
